Dinner you can enjoy with the whole family.

Recently, wraps and salad have been featuring heavily in our dinners here at 2Bites.

This is a great way everyone can pick and choose what they want to add to their plate. Meals that empower your kids to build their own plate naturally invite them to try something new. To support your kids with this, you can model lots of different combinations and trying new things yourself. Just remember to have a few safe foods on offer too – cheese and lettuce are always a win in our house.

This is a perfect meal you can all sit down and enjoy together. Having a meal together as a family gives you the opportunity to model positive mealtime behaviours – such as trying new foods! You can also support your kids to talk about food in terms other than ‘yuck’ and ‘yum’ - describing the texture, taste and look of each different combination gives us lots of different ways to talk about familiar and new foods. Plus, shared mealtimes provide a perfect routine to support greater language development too!

With prices seemingly ever rising at the supermarket, choosing different fillings each week allows you to select meats, other proteins, and vegetables on special and in season to make it more cost effective. You can get creative too – we’ve bulked up this meal with rice cooked with onion, butter, curry powder, cinnamon, ginger and chicken stock – yum!

Poke bowls, burgers, home-made pizzas, omelettes, and nachos are all great ‘build your own’ dinner options you can enjoy as a family.
